Electrical appliances for PAT testing can fall into three distinct classes:
Class 1 – appliances here have basic insulation that relies on earthing. These appliances should be tested every two years (with handheld appliances tested every year) and include kettles, toasters, photocopiers, etc.
Class 2 – appliances within this category should be tested every 12 months and include appliances with extra insulation, such as floor lamps, TVs, internet routers, etc.
Class 3 – within this category, items are classified as extra low voltage and include items such as cameras and laptops.

We aim to keep our process as simple and efficient as possible. We start by carrying out a visual inspection, checking all wiring and plugs for any visual damage, cracks, or erosion.
From here, we will then carry out a series of tests such as earth continuity, earth leakage, insulation resistance, and functional testing.
Each item must be unplugged in order for us to test it appropriately, and we use the latest testing instruments, recording all test data for reference.
From here, we will then be able to label each appliance/item with a pass or fail sticker (including the date the test was carried out), and we will include all results in the PAT test certificate.
Any items that fail the PAT test should be repaired, replaced, or removed asap and we will work with you on these appliances.
Our PAT testing contractors are experienced and professional in their approach, and we work with you and your teams to keep your electrical appliances safe and secure.

All PAT testing allows businesses and landlords to meet The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
Electrical portable appliance testing is a way for businesses to demonstrate that all electrical equipment and appliances are safe to use. It is a process of conducting assessments on any movable electrical appliance within a business.
It keeps appliances safe and ensures you are compliant with Health and Safety regulations.
Fixed appliance testing is testing that is carried out on all hard-wired equipment, whereas PAT testing is carried out on all movable electrical appliances, i.e., hairdryers, kettles, toasters, etc. All 230-volt electrical appliances should be PAT-tested. Cost is based on the size of the premises and building, the number of lights to be tested, and the frequency of testing that is required.
Appliances can include computers, printers, telephones, machinery, kitchen equipment, and more. These tests are also suitable for retailers, commercial businesses, workshops, warehouses, and factories.
We aim to minimise disruption to you and your business. Designing a testing solution that’s bespoke to you and flexible to your needs. Our team is fully insured, qualified, and DBS checked.
