Project
The existing pumps within the facility had reached the end of their operational life, with the pumps that served the heat recovery circuits and CHW Circuits requiring a replacement.
The site needed a survey to ascertain the full scope of the works required; from the implications of hte swap, to the required pipework modifications to enable the changeover.
The Solution
Undertook the replacement of 5 no. pump sets across varying services, including:
GSHP twin-head pump sets,
heat recovery circuit pump sets
CHW Shunt Pump Sets.
Works were carried out during normal operational hours, when all new pump sets were safely transported to the plantroom.
For the CHW & Heat Recovery circuits, we replaced each pump one by one, ensuring at least one pump on each circuit was live at all times to not impact downtime. For the GSHP Pump Set we undertook a controlled downtime period to undertake the switchover for the new pump. The pipework services were modified using a variety of methods using crimped pipework, Flanged & threaded fittings & compression fittings and also included for reconnecting the DP Switch pipework to services. All existing pumps were taken away from site and disposed of accordingly.
The Benefits
Enhanced energy efficiency reduces utility bills
Operates optimally with advanced technology
Precise temperature control for better comfort
Lowers environmental impact by reducing emissions
Offers long-term savings and reduced maintenance costs
