This past weekend, two members of the B-engineering team, a Warrington-based M&E company, bravely abseiled down the tallest cathedral in the UK, the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. Officially known as the Cathedral Church of Christ in Liverpool, it stands as both the tallest cathedral in the UK and one of the tallest non-spired church buildings in the world, stretching an impressive 189 meters (207 yards) in length.

Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, construction of this architectural marvel began in 1904 and was completed in 1978. Its stunning Neo-Gothic Revival style dominates Liverpool’s skyline and serves as a powerful symbol of resilience and unity, making it an ideal venue for a challenge aimed at uplifting and supporting the community.

Alex Page and John Bannon, both B-engineering employees, participated in the event to support the Standing Tall Foundation (STF), a St. Helens-based charity that transforms lives in the community every day. The STF provides vital services ranging from support for veterans and individuals in recovery to mental health and well-being services, offering comprehensive rehabilitation

for anyone who seeks help. The charity relies on the community’s ongoing support to continue its important work.

Participants were given the challenge to raise £200 each for this worthy cause, with Alex and John successfully raising £1,098 and counting. If you would like to support the cause, the just-give page is still open.
