This week, B-engineering is pleased to welcome five eager T-Level students from Priestley College to our team. This marks their first full-time industry placement block, providing them with practical experiences that reflect a realistic “day in the life” at our company.
To make their time with us as impactful as possible, we’ve created a structured placement program centred around a fictional customer project. This simulated scenario allows students to engage in a wide range of professional tasks, including:
- Creating quotes for services and materials.
- Drafting and responding to professional emails.
- Developing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
- Collaborating on project planning and documentation.
Throughout the month, students will work closely with different departments, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle. They’ll attend team meetings, shadow experienced professionals from different departments, and receive mentorship from staff passionate about nurturing new talent.
At the end of the placement, each student will deliver a final presentation to a panel of internal stakeholders. This is their opportunity to showcase what they’ve learned, reflect on their growth, and receive valuable feedback from industry professionals.
